Corfu

Fly to the Greek Island of Corfu direct from Norwich Airport on a weekly departure between May and October every year.

With an average temperature of between 18ºC and 25ºC between these months you can dip your toes in the Mediterranean Sea and relax on the beach on what is the second largest of the Ionian Islands.

The main town of Corfu has strong influences from Greek, French, Italian and British cultures which can be seen in its architecture and cobbled streets.  The Old Fortress overlooks the town and was built by the Italians in the 15th century to defend the island from pirate invaders and others who could threaten the valuable Venetian trade routes.

As a popular tourist destination for many years there are plenty of resorts to choose from, all featuring water sports centres and boats trip excursions.  Whether you prefer jet-skiing, paddle boarding, paragliding or windsurfing there are plenty of options for you to choose from.

With over 50 beaches to enjoy, featuring endless sandy beaches there are both quieter and more active options available.  There are always plenty of café and restaurants for you to dine at or enjoy an evening drink in.  The Greek Meze is a highlight of cuisine in Corfu.

If you are looking for a great location to explore and take some stunning photographs, visit the Canal d’Amour in the village of Sidari to the north of the island.  Here there are beautiful rock formations and coves for you to discover.
